The holy Qur’an is comprised with114 chapters, of varying length. The whole Qur’an has 6,666 verses. The longest chapter of the Qur’an is Al-Baqarah, it contains 286 verses. The shortest chapter of the Qur’an is AlKawthar, which consists of three verses only. The chapters revealed before the migration of the Prophet to Madina are called Makkan. After the migration to the Madina are called Madinan.
The themes of the Qur'an are interwoven among the chapters, and the book is not in chronological order. Each chapter has its own uniqueness and teaches how to lead simple and modest life. The last chapter “An-Nas” which means “Man kind” explains about what are the roles of Allah such as, The King (or Ruler) of Mankind; The Allah (for judge) of Mankind, and Who dwells into the hearts of Mankind.
